Sewing Circle

Sewing Circle meets most Sunday afternoons at the church from 2-4 pm from September through to the end of June.   We are a group of people from various Oakville churches and the wider community of varying skill levels who sew items in support of a variety of charitable causes.  We have sewn comforters that have been distributed by the Mennonite Central Committee to refugees in various parts of the world, and closer to home, have provided quilts in support of the Quilts for Survivors initiative providing quilts to survivors of residential schools. The Glen Abbey United Church outreach committee has generously supplied us with all the tools and materials we need.  If you know of any high school students who are looking for volunteer hours, please have them join us! All are welcome!

Glen Abbey UC helping out at Kerr Street Mission

On Monday May 29th, these good-hearted folks prepared
dinner and hosted games for many families.
Underneath those “stylish” hair nets are: (from left to right)
Allan Anderson, Bruce Francis, Tim Jay, Janice Cramm, Cathy Goacher,
John Cramm, Mary Anderson, Paul Peters, Susan Francis and Jan Peters.
Thanks for reflecting God’s Love into the community!
